Those needing a contemporary retail fix, the five-floored and well-trafficked Central Airport Plaza mall – in fact, the largest shopping and entertainment complex in the whole of Northern Thailand- can be visited in a convenient 10 minute leisurely stroll from Sereno Airport condo; arguably the best shopping centre in all Chiang Mai for international brands and providing free daily shuttle bus routes to designated venues elsewhere in and around the city, the mall boasts over 500 shops, restaurants and other services not least Chiang Mai’s only Robinson department store, a branch of IT City, a seven-screen Major Cineplex movie theatre, a Tops Market, the recently refurbished ‘Kad Luang Airport’ food court, ‘Northern Village’ handicraft and souvenir zone as well as a multi-purpose convention and exhibition hall. Directly across from which lie warehouse sized outlets of ‘baan & BEYOND’ home improvement store, ‘Power Buy’ electronics retailer as well as ‘OfficeMate’ workplace equipment and supplies stockist. For a premium class of domestic and imported foodstuffs, residents can patronise the nearby Nim City Daily community mall for a branch of Chiang Mai’s native Rimping supermarket or, for value seekers, the globally renowned “Japanese dollar store”, Daiso.
Occupying a first floor spot in the single condo building is the newly rejuvenated –and decently presented- communal lobby with juristic office staffed between the hours of 9AM and 6PM Monday to Saturday. Though a duo of security guards watch eagle-eyed over the main entrance to the condo only after dark, admittance to the interior is controlled by means of a personal-issue electronic keycard and CCTV cameras are mounted throughout all common areas. Established on nearly 1500 square metres of land, the seven-storey Sereno Airport condo accommodates 115 units in total. Notwithstanding a small number of commercial premises and an on-site conference room on floor one, all residential units come with an attached circular and spacious balcony orientated in a thermally conducive north-south direction; while some of the original rooms have remained untouched, many have been duly transformed as part of the recent upgrade project. Without exception, all residential units are laid out as open-plan studios and those since overhauled offer 30 sq m of fully furnished, air-conditioned, completely move-in-ready and keenly priced habitable space. Featuring a chic bathroom with glass-panelled walk-in shower and, separately, a fully equipped kitchenette, snug 2-seat sofa and no shortage of storage space, renovated units are very comfortably appointed and smartly adorned with a welcoming homely feel.
