Sereno Airport Condominium from sleepy residence to “desired destination”

Christened originally as Top Airport Condominium almost two decades ago, low-rise construction was born again in December 2015 following a large scale facelift –outside and in- completed by Bangkok-based property management and investment concern, RTC Hospitality Group. Operating as more a condotel and almost exclusively the long-term mainstay of Thai folk, Sereno Airport condominium is billed as a luxury modern European style development positioned in a highly favourable location a mere stone’s throw from Chiang Mai International Airport.

Tucked away out of sight down a soi off the main Hang Dong Road approximately 2km south of the historic ‘Old City and set amid an authentically Thai neighbourhood and pleasantly green surroundings. Sereno Airport condo feels incredibly secluded yet affords access to a selection of everyday amenities and more right on the doorstep. Lining almost the entire length of the soi are mom and pop shophouses of Thai eateries, minimarts, household stores, pharmacies, and mobile phone shops.

For groceries, the Sereno Airport condo is ideally placed an easy 10-minute walk from Tesco Lotus hypermarket (with its upstairs food court) through the private mid-tier Klaimor Hospital. Slightly farther onward but still effortlessly reachable courtesy of an astonishingly inexpensive ride in a yellow songthaew, the Hang Dong branches of the low-cost Big C Supercentre and the wholesale giant Siam Makro. The largest shopping and entertainment complex in Northern Thailand- can be visited in a convenient 10-minute stroll from Sereno Airport condo; arguably the best shopping centre in all of Chiang Mai for international brands and provides free daily shuttle bus routes to designated venues elsewhere in and around the city. For a premium class of domestic and imported foodstuffs, residents can patronise the nearby Nim City Daily community mall for a branch of Chiang Mai’s native Rimping supermarket or, for value seekers, the globally renowned “Japanese dollar store”, Daiso.

Occupying a first-floor spot in the single condo building is the newly rejuvenated –and decently presented- communal lobby with a juristic office staffed between 9 AM and 6 PM Monday to Saturday.

Though security guards watch the main entrance to the condo only after dark, admittance to the interior is controlled using a personal-issue electronic keycard, and CCTV cameras are mounted throughout all common areas. A single lift (elevator) is present with an underground private parking capacity enough for 30 cars supported by an additional 20 outdoor bays divided between the front and rear of the property.

Notwithstanding a few commercial premises and an on-site conference room on floor one, all residential units come with an attached circular and spacious balcony orientated in a thermally conducive north-south direction. Some of the original rooms have remained untouched, and many have been duly transformed. Without exception, all residential units are open-plan studios.
